“That’s Life!”,  the first Pan-African TV series created by Marguerite Abouet, produced by Keewu Production, and in partnership with RAES NGO, exists thanks to the French Muskoka Fund, which enabled the pooling of the technical, financial and human resources of the WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA and UN Women. Each of these agencies selects and validates the key points of information and awareness-raising promoted by “That’s Life”.”

“That’s Life”, the first Pan-African TV series available to countries to communicate, inform, and raise awareness in an innovative and entertaining way and to promote a change in behavior in terms of reproductive, maternal, newborn, and adolescent health.

Viewers grow attached to the heroines with whom they share the joys and sorrows, seethe over the underhand tricks of Rokoba, Emadé’s mother-in-law, weep over the death of young Aminata, cheer on Assitan, the new midwife who wants to begin a dialogue with the young people of the district concerning their questions about love, sex, contraception, etc.

During the episodes, the technical terms of EmONC, ASRH, FGM, the quality of care, and violence toward women take on real meaning in a subtle but no less real manner, thus showing the difficulties of the everyday life of a health center that cares for the inhabitants of the Ratanga neighborhood, where life sways between joy, misfortune, work, and family life.

Broadcast on Canal+ Afrique and TV5 Monde Afrique in 2015, 2016 and 2017, an agreement with Canal France International has opened the doors to around forty national channels in Africa, thus reaching over 100 million potential television viewers.

Season 3 is currently being written, with broadcasting planned for spring 2019.
